Blog Activity for last week's Sunshine Online story - Week 6

1. Date and underline in red
2. Miss a line and write the title of the Sunshine Online book you have been reading, then write Quiz beside it. eg: China's Treasure - Quiz
3. Your task is to create a quiz for someone else who also read the same story. You must number and write your quiz questions one at a time in your book. Make sure you know the answers (write them on a spare piece of paper and keep them in your clearfile folder for later, when you need to mark your partner's answers). You need 10 quiz questions in total.

1. Write a short paragraph explaining what your story was about (about 3 or 4 lines).
2. Write 5 or 6 short bullet points that explain the main things that happened in the story. (For Level 29, you will need to write 5 or 6 main facts you found out instead).

Current Events Term 2 Week 1

Remember to write the date and underline it with red pen before you start!!

City Set for Influx of Afghan Refugees

1. BEFORE you click on the link, read the Headline above and predict what you think the article is going to be about. It is ok if you are wrong - it's only meant to be a guess!!

2. Click on this link and read the article.

3. Create a Discoveries and Wonderings table neatly in your book using your pencil and ruler. Use at least half a page.

4. Record all the facts you discovered in the Discoveries column. Do not copy sentences from the article. Try to summarise and put them into your own sentence.

5. What are you still wondering about that the article didn't answer? Record at least 3 wonderings.

Spelling Week 10

Step 1: Write today's date and the title.
Step 2: Write sentences that contain your spelling words while giving the reader an idea of what each means. Remember to underline the word in the sentence that is your spelling word (with a ruler!)
Step 3: Play Tic-Tac-Toe with a friend. Instead of writing X's and O's, write a different spelling word in each square. You'll score in spelling as well as in Tic-Tac-Toe! Your partner needs your spelling list to check your spelling while you play.

Week 3 Spelling

1. Write the date on the next line underneath the ruled off red line.
2. Underline it in red.
3. Miss a line and write Spelling in blue.
4. Miss a line and start.

Spelling
1. Write each of your words into sentences that show what the word means. Underline your spelling word in blue in each sentence. Make sure you spell it correctly!!

2. Miss a line under your sentences and write your spelling words in a list. Use your blue pen to write the consonants and your red pen for the vowels.

3. With a partner, play Hangman with your spelling words on a piece of paper.
